Last year, JAVY was enlisted among Asian Legal Business (ALB)’s 15 Fastest Growing Firms in China. On Aug 22th 2022, the ALB published their latest list for 2022, and we are honored to be enlisted once again, through our steady expansion and quality legal service.

GROWTH STRATEGIES

The mission of Beijing JAVY Law Firm is to “promote the proper implementation of laws and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of clients” and to help clients “manage risks, facilitate transactions and resolve disputes.” In order to better fulfill its mission, the firm has set the goal of “becoming a top-tier law firm in China in terms of the number of lawyers and establishing a global legal service network to become an international law firm.”

Now, the firm has about 180 registered lawyers, ranking among the top 1 percentage of law firms in Beijing. Its business covers more than 40 practice areas and industries, and it has maintained its leading position in traditional practice areas such as finance and securities, compliance risk, litigation and arbitration, and criminal defense.

In addition, the firm has established a firm foothold in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and technology media. JAVY has been busy with setting up and opening new offices nationwide. “We have opened offices in Nanjing, Jinan, and Dezhou and is going through procedures for opening offices in Zaozhuang, Nanning, and Fuzhou. We’re also planning to set up offices in Shanghai, Xi’an, Shenzhen and Hangzhou,” JAVY’s director Zhao Zenghai tells ALB.

GROWING PAINS

JAVY’s source of cases has been somewhat impacted by changes in the COVID pandemic and the local economic climate. Zhao says to ALB: “JAVY has adopted a number of plans to address this issue and, in the meantime, increase the firm’s visibility in the market. These plans include producing publicity videos for our attorneys who are dedicated to establishing their brand and reputation free of charge, assisting the attorneys with livestreaming activities, and assisting them in developing their own intellectual property. More than half of the firm’s attorneys have enrolled in the plans. In order to meet their demands, the firm has been actively increasing public case sources for junior attorneys.” Zhao also shares that to better support the success of young attorneys, “In 2022, JAVY established 11 specialization committees and 3 networking committees to address a variety of topics, including compliance risks, foreign-related business, intellectual property rights, financial securities, criminal, civil, and commercial law, as well as other areas. These committees are overseen by a number of experienced legal professionals who work together to inspire young attorneys to take courageous steps forward and develop a group of young people with political steadfastness, legal expertise, justice, and integrity in an effort to jointly promote the wholesome and long-term growth of the legal profession across the country.”

FUTURE OUTLOOK

JAVY’s development orientation is “pooling talent, constructing a platform, and growing energetically” and its three stage aims are “seeking survival, seeking development, and developing services with specific features.” According to Zhao, JAVY will continue to carry out all work plans in accordance with the goals of the firm’s First Five-Year Plan and put out all possible effort to realize the strategic target of developing a sizable law firm across the country. “In order to expand and enhance our nationwide legal service network, we will develop fresh work concepts and management strategies. Within the next three years, we want to hire more than 3,000 lawyers nationwide and open at least 100 branch offices in first- and second-tier cities, as well as other cities. Our goal is to make JAVY a well-known firm in China, with the number of elites and attorneys ranking among the top tier firms in the nation,” Zhao informs ALB. “In five years, we intend to join with a leading international law firm to create a global network of legal services, thereby increasing our contributions to China’s rule of law, the Belt and Road initiative, and reviving the country. We want to transform JAVY quickly from a local brand to worldwide legal service,” Zhao continues.
