On 12 January 2025, the ‘Belt and Road’ Legal Service Forum and the launching ceremony of ‘Jia Lawyers Global Service Network’ was grandly opened in Beijing. The forum was planned and hosted by JAVY law firm, with People's Rule of Law as the cooperative media of ‘JAVY Global Service Network’ and special support from Guiqi Academy. Nearly 200 participants, including legal elites, experts, scholars and business leaders from all over the country, gathered together to witness this historic moment and work together to draw a grand blueprint for win-win cooperation.

In this winter weekend, we are touched that all the leaders, all the industry colleagues and all the media friends can take time out of their busy schedules to come to this forum. At this moment, in the name of JAVY law firm, I would like to extend the warmest welcome and the most heartfelt thanks to all the guests and friends! Your presence here is not only an important promotion of legal service cooperation and exchange under the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, but also an important support and encouragement to our ‘Jiawei Law Firm Global Service Network’, which will be launched soon.

It has been eleven years since the State proposed the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative in 2013. Over the past eleven years, the Belt and Road Initiative has become a broad cooperation platform for our country to communicate with the world, promoting policy communication, facility connectivity, trade facilitation, financial integration, and people-to-people exchanges, and bringing unprecedented development opportunities to the countries along the route. Under the guidance of this grand blueprint, the role of legal services as the cornerstone and guarantee of economic exchanges has become increasingly prominent. While more and more Chinese enterprises are going global, Chinese lawyers also have a great opportunity to go global. Against this backdrop, Garrison hopes to take advantage of this forum to discuss with all the wise men and women on the issue of how to go global as a legal practitioner.

In recent years, the global legal service industry has been undergoing great changes due to the development of technology. Legal technology has brought about an increase in the efficiency of lawyers' work, and the online communication environment has brought about a change in brand building and marketing. The application of digital technology, big data and artificial intelligence is gradually changing the ecology of the legal industry, where lawyers have been able to break into the world by fighting alone for thousands of years. The cost reduction under the scale effect and the improvement in the depth and breadth of professional services under business collaboration have profoundly affected the pattern of the global legal services industry. Collaboration and sharing have become a major trend in the legal services industry.

Against the background of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, Chinese enterprises are facing various overseas risks as they conquer territories overseas, and there is an urgent need for Chinese legal practitioners to go abroad and provide professional services to protect Chinese enterprises. Those who have been involved in cross-border business are well aware of the difficulty of cross-border business, which involves different jurisdictions, different languages and cultures, different work efficiencies and habits, diverse areas of expertise, and how to coordinate partners, etc. Collaboration and sharing are the key factors for legal professionals to respond to the needs of Chinese enterprises. Collaboration and sharing is the inevitable choice for legal professionals to respond to the ‘Belt and Road’.

In recent years, one after another industrial crown jewels have been won by Chinese enterprises. China's manufacturing industry has risen to global prominence thanks to the huge advantages brought by the whole industry chain. China's legal service industry should also learn from it, and realise the deep integration of the legal service industry with the attitude of whole industry chain development. Let synergy and sharing become the new paradigm of China's legal service industry.

The idea of ‘Jia Lawyers Global Service Network’ put forward by Jia Law Firm and the efforts to put this idea into practice are based on the concept that through business collaboration and information sharing, legal people can get more development opportunities and more development space in the era of great changes in the legal service industry, go to the forefront of the great changes and realise the dividends of the times. We hope to build such a platform.

We hope to build a platform where lawyers can obtain greater case support and business development support, find business partners more conveniently to achieve business collaboration, and obtain one-stop support for legal tools; where law firms can obtain stronger brand endorsement, an upgraded digital management system, and a more suitable working environment for lawyers' growth; and where end clients can quickly and conveniently obtain legal advice on legal issues. The end clients can quickly and easily get answers to their legal questions, find trustworthy lawyers who can really solve their problems, and track the progress of the service to make the whole process more secure.

We know that building such a platform will not happen overnight. Today is our first step towards realising this vision. We hope to be the initiator of building this platform, and through this launching ceremony more peers can join us in building this platform for business collaboration and information sharing.
