From November 8 to 9, “2024 Annual Meeting of Guike and Exploration and Breakthrough in the Era of China's Lawyer Profession ‘Going Overseas’” was held in Beijing, and on the evening of November 8, Guike's Night Talk, as the exciting prelude to the annual meeting, took “Why Do Lawyers As a wonderful prelude to the conference, the night talk of Guike on the evening of November 8, with the core topic of “Why Lawyers Need to Write Books” and the premiere of the new book “Words in the Back”, attracted many authoritative experts and outstanding elites in the legal sector to actively participate in the event.

Good evening, everyone! In this “Guiku night talk” wonderful moment, we meet here, and jointly discuss the “from lawyers writing books to preaching and teaching to solve problems” this profound theme, it is really a good thing.

Lawyers, in the rule of law in the picture, is a bright and colorful star. Writing books, is a lawyer will practice experience and wisdom crystallization into an important way of knowledge treasure, is the key way to inherit the spirit of the rule of law. Like my book “the rights of shareholders”, it condenses my experience in dealing with many cases involving shareholders' rights and interests, from the shareholders' right to know, the right to vote to the right to dividends and other aspects of the complex legal provisions and practical cases, for the readers to clearly show the connotation and extension of the rights of shareholders. There is also Chopping Off Risks, which addresses the legal risks that may be faced in business activities. I share various risk scenarios that I have encountered in practice as well as coping strategies to help enterprises and related parties identify and resolve risks in advance. The book “Forbidden Zones: Legal Boundaries of the Securities Market” is centered on the special area of the securities market, clearly pointing out the legal forbidden zones in it, because the legal issues of the securities market are highly specialized and complex, and may touch the red line if they are not paying attention a little bit, and this book aims to let both practitioners and investors have a clear understanding of these boundaries, so that they can avoid unnecessary losses. I have been involved in this field for many years, and I have carefully organized what I have learned in my legal practice into a text, hoping to share these valuable experiences with others.

However, for lawyers, writing a book is only the starting point, preaching and teaching is the higher level of pursuit and mission.

Let's start with preaching. This is like passing the sacred torch of the spirit of the rule of law, to ignite the burning faith in fairness and justice in the hearts of young lawyers. We want to let those young talents who are about to enter the temple of law to deeply understand that the law is by no means just a simple patchwork of boring provisions, nor is it a mechanical listing of stereotypical rules. The law is a solid barrier to maintain social justice, a powerful shield to protect people's rights and interests, and a key force for social progress. When young lawyers build a firm belief in the rule of law deep in their hearts, they will be able to guard the bottom line and defend the dignity in the future legal practice, and become the mainstay of the rule of law.

Let's talk more about teaching. This is like irrigating the fountain of knowledge, cultivating fertile soil for young lawyers to develop their professional skills. We teach a wide range of critical content, from the rigorous writing of legal documents, to the analysis of the case, from the trial site of the flexible adaptation, to the clever art of communication with clients. These links are closely linked, each of which has a profound impact on the direction of the case and fully demonstrates the professionalism and outstanding ability of the lawyer. We carefully instruct young students on how to accurately utilize legal provisions, how to quickly grasp the key to a case, and how to remain calm and wise in a heated courtroom debate. Through comprehensive and systematic education, we ensure that when they start their legal careers, they already have a solid foundation in law and excellent professional ability, so as to build a solid foundation for their future development.

Lastly, it is to clear up confusion. This is the light that illuminates the way forward for young lawyers and dispels the fog they encounter in their growth process. They may not know what to do in front of complex legal issues, they may be wavering on the scale of professional ethics, or they may be wandering and confused at the crossroads of their career development. As experienced former lawyers, we have to use our wisdom and experience to clear the clouds and fog for them and guide their way. We will help them to establish a correct outlook on their career and values, encourage them to bravely meet the challenges and move forward firmly towards the ideal of the rule of law, so as to become a solid force in promoting the development of a society governed by the rule of law.

In the process of fulfilling the great mission of teaching and learning, I deeply appreciate the difficulties and obstacles involved. However, these challenges are precisely the driving force for me to move forward, prompting me to continuously improve myself and perfect my teaching system and methods.
