On November 11th 2022, JAVY’s Commercial Law committee held a seminar discussing strategies in administrative compensation in forced demolition cases, a difficult and complicated topic. Committee chairman Zheng Xu presided the seminar, joined by committee secretary Yu Hanjun, and lawyers Ma Jinfu, Zhang Lingling, Zhang Hongjia. Both on-site and online participants joined the discussion.
The seminar focused on three topics in difficult administrative lawsuits, including:
The proper procedure to demolish finished unlawful buildings;
The proper procedure to demolish unlawful buildings which are still under construction;
The administrative compensation of forced demolition.
After a 2-hour long heated discussion, the participants have reached consensus and formed deeper insights about the discussed topic. The lawyers agreed that this was a highly productive seminar and time well-spent, and hoped JAVY will hold more of these discussions in the future.
