Taking illegal modification as an example, the new national standard stipulates that the maximum design speed of e-bikes cannot exceed 25 kilometres per hour. However, in actual use, many cracked system of e-bikes speeding, becoming a traffic safety threat.

In addition to illegal modifications, the safety of electric vehicle batteries is also of great concern. In recent years, fires caused by battery quality and illegal charging have occurred frequently. The group standard proposes that manufacturers should establish sales control and after-sales service system, and conduct regular inspection and training for agents and business shops.

The standard stresses that electric car manufacturers and sales shops to publicise the complaint channel, within 48 hours to respond to deal with consumer complaints, and popularise the knowledge of safe use to consumers.
