On July 12th 2023, JAVY’s partner Cai Lei Esq. was invited to give a lecture about the opportunity and challenge of family lawyers, in the 11th Guike bimonthly seminar.
As Mr. Cai pointed out, the passing on of wealth is the key interest of a family, which means great responsibility for the family lawyers. The greatest challenge of being a family lawyer is to establish trust, as family lawyers will inevitably come across the most private information regarding their clients’ family, thus, it is vital for the lawyers to gain and maintain the trust of their clients.
Mr. Cai introduced JAVY’s two principles of gaining trust: integrity and professionalism. Integrity means the family lawyers must work diligently to protect the clients’ interests, and professionalism means the family lawyers must be experts in the field, they should also have a clear vision and extensive knowledge in related fields such as economics, finance and management, they need to learn and adapt quickly to suit the clients’ needs, too.
