The first seminar of the Compliance and Risk Management Legal Committee of JAVY Law Firm was successfully held on the afternoon of January 13th in JAVY Building. The seminar was attended by more than 20 attorneys, including Youshan Ge, the executive director and chairman of JAVY’s Compliance and Risk Management Legal Committee, partners Hongpeng An and Kunpeng Di. The seminar was hosted by committee chairman Youshan Ge.
Presentations focused on 3 aspects,namely "legal practice introduction of corporate compliance risk management", "State-owned Key Corporate Compliance Management Approaches" discussions, "compliance non-prosecution identification list research". The attorneys exchanged and discussed their thoughts, and get penetrating and profound insights through collision of ideas.
Firstly, Ge Youshan, the Executive Director, presented a detailed introduction on issues related to legal practices on corporate compliance risk management the definition, history, kinds, and other contents of compliance, Mr. Ge introduced the key points of compliance legal services for different types of enterprises, including Chinese central state-owned, private, and foreign enterprises.
Subsequently, Mr. Ge elaborated on the guidelines and recommendations for compliance in legal practices based on his years of rich experience and then emphasized on the precautions against the risks facing by attorneys when dealing with compliance legal services, which have been given credits to by attorneys presented.
Mr. Ge conducted a comprehensive and systematic review on the “Management Measures for Compliance of Chinese central state-owned enterprises", which became effective on October 1, 2022. At the same time, he commented upon the innovations and breakthroughs of the measures and gave suggestions accordingly.
Hongpeng An, partner of JAVY Law firm, introduced his publication” The Legal Services Handbook for Corporate Compliance Inspection”, which was created based on his years of experience in anti-corruption as a discipline inspection and supervision department commissioner in the armed police. In addition, he shared his thoughts on the legal consulting business especially on the public officials’ good practices.
After two hours of discussion and communication, everyone gained a deeper understanding on the compliance legal services business. All participating lawyers believed they benefited a lot from the seminar and hoped to participate more seminars in the future, in order to improve their professional skills and strengthen their collaboration.
