    On 16 March 2026, a delegation from the Institute of Evidence Science at China University of Political Science and Law visited Beijing JAVY Law Firm to conduct an exchange programme aimed at fostering industry-academia collaboration and expanding career opportunities, and successfully held a signing ceremony for the establishment of a teaching and practice base.

     

    During the meeting, Professor Peng Wenhua, Dean of the Institute of Evidence Science at China University of Political Science and Law, presented letters of appointment to Wang Zichang, Senior Partner in charge of client rights at Beijing JAVY Law Firm, and Partner Wei Wei.

    The National Collaborative Innovation Centre for Judicial Civilisation was jointly established by China University of Political Science and Law, Jilin University, Wuhan University, Zhejiang University and other institutions, and is one of the first batch of ‘2011 Plan’ collaborative innovation centres recognised by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.

     

    The Centre’s development objectives are to establish, in accordance with the ‘trinity’ approach of scientific research, disciplinary development and policy advice and education, a major hub for judicial research in China and indeed the world; a platform for the development of China’s judicial disciplines; a base for the cultivation of outstanding judicial talent; and a core think tank for the advancement of judicial civilisation and the rule of law in China. The Centre’s mission is to advance the development of national judicial civilisation, enhance the recognition and influence of China’s judicial civilisation within the contemporary global civilisational framework, and enable the Chinese nation to take its place among the world’s leading judicial civilisations.

     

    As a leading institution in the field of law and politics in China, China University of Political Science and Law enjoys an outstanding reputation in legal education, academic research and the training of practitioners. The Institute of Evidence Science at China University of Political Science and Law is a research and teaching unit directly affiliated with the university, responsible for the development of the “Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Evidence Science (China University of Political Science and Law)”. In 2008, the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Evidence Science (China University of Political Science and Law) passed its acceptance inspection and commenced formal operations; it is the only Ministry of Education Key Laboratory within the field of law and among law schools nationwide.

     

    The Institute of Evidence Science at China University of Political Science and Law offers doctoral and master’s degree programmes in the sub-discipline of Evidence Law, comprising three research specialisations: Evidence Law, Forensic Medicine, and Physical Evidence Technology. It also offers a Professional Master of Laws (LLM) programme, comprising two specialisations: Forensic Science and Judicial Civilisation. Since its establishment, the Institute has trained over a thousand postgraduate students.

     

    During the enterprise visit and job placement exchange event, Burenbatu, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office and Deputy Director of the MBA Education Centre at China University of Political Science and Law, Professor Peng Wenhua, Dean of the Institute of Evidence Science; Professor Zhao Dong, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Evidence Science; Yang Junli, Deputy Party Secretary of the Institute of Evidence Science; Professor Yin Bo, Director of the Centre for Financial Crime Research at the Institute of Evidence Science; and Mao Yixiao, Assistant Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office and Lecturer at the Institute of Evidence Science, attended the symposium in person to engage in in-depth discussions with the appointed lawyers.

     

    This appointment not only reflects the high regard in which the National Centre for Collaborative Innovation in Judicial Civilisation and the Institute of Evidence Science at China University of Political Science and Law hold the professional competence, practical experience and industry influence of lawyers Wang Zichang and Wei Wei, but also serves as a full endorsement of Jia Law Firm’s professional capabilities and philosophy on talent development, laying a solid foundation for the firm to further specialise in its professional fields and empower talent development within the industry.
