On 10th April 2025, JAVY law firm successfully held the activity of ‘Legal Risk Management and Innovative Application of Insurance Tools’. JAVY law firm's partner, Mr Zhang Ying, acted as the moderator of the event, and invited Mr Pang Zhigang, the head of Dongcheng Marketing Department of Zheshang Insurance Beijing Branch, to be the keynote speaker.
Mr Zhang Ying said that lawyers not only need to have solid professional knowledge and rich practical experience in the process of practice, but also need to constantly explore and make use of new tools and methods. Among them, insurance tools, as an innovative means of risk management, are gradually being recognised and accepted by more and more lawyers. We look forward to providing an in-depth understanding of legal insurance and discussing how to make use of insurance tools to provide more comprehensive and efficient legal services to our clients through this event.
Afterwards, Manager Pang Zhigang firstly introduced the origin and development history of legal insurance. He pointed out that legal insurance, as an emerging type of insurance, has experienced more than a decade of development since its birth. Before insurance entered the field of legal risk management, similar services were mainly provided by guarantee companies. However, guarantee companies had many shortcomings in terms of amount limit, speed of issuance and customer experience, which made it difficult to meet the growing market demand. As a result, insurance companies have launched legal insurance products such as litigation preservation liability insurance in a timely manner, providing the market with new options.
Manager Pang further introduced a variety of legal insurance in detail, including civil litigation case acceptance fee insurance, litigation property preservation liability insurance (i.e., litigation liability insurance), continuation of execution guarantee insurance, evidence preservation liability insurance, behavioural preservation liability insurance, trademark infringed loss compensation insurance, and patent enforcement insurance. Through vivid cases and detailed data, he explained the positive role of these insurance products in helping the parties to reduce legal risks, improve the efficiency of litigation and protect legitimate rights and interests.
In the interactive exchange session, the atmosphere was warm and enthusiastic, and the participants spoke enthusiastically and discussed in depth the application of legal insurance, cases in practice and future development trend. Everyone expressed their own views, shared their experiences and insights in practical work, and collided with many sparks of ideas.
