In this episode of JAVY Law Firm interview, we meet Han Honghong, a lawyer who transitioned from corporate legal work to practicing law. Han, a graduate of the Central University for Nationalities with nearly 10 years of experience, shares her journey and insights.
Han joined JAVY Law Firm's General Legal Affairs Department by chance through an introduction by a colleague. She was impressed by her colleagues' professionalism and willingness to share knowledge.
Specializing in non-litigation legal services, Han's work spans various industries, including high-tech, manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and energy. Her expertise lies in IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, corporate restructuring, and compliance. Han emphasizes that non-litigation work requires a combination of legal knowledge and business thinking, which distinguishes it from litigation.
To enhance her skills, Han spent several years working in corporate legal departments, gaining a deeper understanding of business operations and developing a comprehensive legal service approach. She highlights two key experiences: her role in the New Hope restructuring project, where she learned to independently manage tasks, and her time as a corporate legal advisor in 2021, where she learned to solve complex legal issues from a business perspective.
Han believes that an excellent lawyer must possess strong case-handling skills and good professional ethics. She admires her first mentor in the legal field, from whom she learned a great deal.
Outside of work, Han enjoys traveling, reading, and swimming. These hobbies help her maintain a healthy work-life balance and manage the demands of her profession.
In the next three to five years, Han aims to improve her business development skills, strengthen her expertise in non-litigation cases, and learn to handle litigation to enhance her overall legal abilities.
