Recently, at the invitation of our Senior Partner Wang Chunmin Esq., Ren Xiaohong Esq. from the French Dechert Law Firm and Zhu Meiting Esq. from the German SZA Law Firm visited JAVY's Beijing headquarters. More than a dozen of JAVY lawyers, including Senior Partner Xu Fadong Esq. and Partner Cai Lei Esq., participated in the meeting. They engaged in in-depth discussions with the two visiting lawyers on legal issues related to Sino-French/Sino-German investments, mergers and acquisitions, and data export, and the two lawyers delivered detailed and practical lectures on French and German labor laws.
The Dechert Law Firm in France has a history of more than 80 years. Ms. Ren is the head of its China department and holds a practicing lawyer qualification from the Paris Court of Appeals.
The SZA Law Firm in Germany has a history of over a hundred years. Ms. Zhu is a senior consultant lawyer and the head of the China Business Department, holding a specialized lawyer qualification in German intellectual property law.
The two lawyers emphasized the importance for local legal entities to pay special attention to labor compliance issues due to differences in laws. Many practices common in China may be illegal locally and could lead to employee claims, such as the common practice of setting up WeChat groups for employees.
Mr. Wang is among the “one thousand foreign-related lawyers nationwide” selected for the Ministry of Justice's database of foreign-related lawyers. He participated in the Ministry of Justice's first advanced training program for foreign-related legal talent this year and has extensive experience in foreign-related legal practice, providing comprehensive legal support for Chinese enterprises and citizens going abroad.
