On October 26, 2023, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Mao Zedong's directive to learn from the "Fengqiao Experience" and the 20th anniversary of Xi Jinping's instruction to uphold and develop it, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice held a seminar to discuss and share achievements in mediation work. More than 150 participants attended, including leaders from various district justice bureaus and mediation associations.
Attorney Guo Peiyuan from JAVY Law Firm was invited to attend the seminar and hosted the second session, focusing on the role of people's mediation in resolving grassroots disputes. Key speakers shared insights on developing new mediation mechanisms and integrating the "Fengqiao Experience" into local governance.
The event highlighted Beijing's success in establishing 7,849 people's mediation organizations, achieving city-wide coverage and significantly increasing the number of cases handled, particularly in professional fields like intellectual property. Beijing's multi-faceted mediation mechanisms have been promoted nationwide as exemplary models.
The seminar included discussions on various themes, such as mobilizing the public to prevent conflicts, the role of mediation in modern grassroots governance, and the development prospects of professional mediation. Experts and scholars provided feedback on the discussions.
