On August 20 this year, the 30th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress voted to pass the "Legal Aid Law of the People's Republic of China." This is our country's first special legislation in the field of legal aid, and it will be implemented on January 1, 2022.

In order to further increase the awareness of the "Legal Aid Law", expand the coverage of legal aid, and enable employees to better grasp the highlights and key tasks of the Tuanjiehu-sub-district Federation of Trade Unions held an online lecture on "Legal Aid Law". Attorney Lu Da served as the keynote speaker. More than 20 grassroots units and more than 60 employees participated in this lecture.

The lecture focused on the legislative principles of the "Legal Aid Law", the subject, scope and path of legal aid, protection and supervision, and legal responsibilities and so on, which narrowed the distance between the "Legal Aid Law" and the majority of employees, and let them understand what is Legal aid, guide employees to find law in case of trouble, handle affairs according to law, and solve problem by the usage of law.

The employees who participated in the training said that they have benefited a lot from this study and fully felt the importance of the Legal Aid Law in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens and safeguarding social fairness and justice, and were familiar with the new regulations and requirements of legal aid. In the future, they must combine the learning results with their own work to continuously improve the quality of the rule of law.
